Jack woke up to the odd sensation of something warm and soft curled around him.Whatever it was twitched and he felt something at the base of his spine move.His eyes snapped open and he saw a long, black tail curving from the base of his spine up to his chest, tucked up against him.Sam was looking at him expectantly.He was about to let out a yell when Sam's paw was shoved into his mouth, silencing him."Be quiet!Lest you wake your friend up,"Sam hissed.Jack blinked in surprise, did Sam just talk?!Sam smirked at his expression."Now I'm sure you're wondering what's going on.Allow me to explain.I am what your people call a Cait Sidhe, or Cat Fae in english.That tail you have there, and those ears when you finally notice them,"Jack reached up and found cat ears on his head when Sam mentioned that,"Are part of a gift I have given you.You could have left me to suffer when you found me in that trap yesterday, but you didn't.So to show my gratitude I have given you the highest honor my kind can possibly bestow.I made you one of us, half Cait Sidhe.Though to do that I had to give you a portion of my soul.It manifested into the person you saw in the mirror in your dream.He is apart of you know and is the one that gives you the abilities of a Cait Sidhe, as well as the physical changes.No need to worry though, you can remove and gain those changes at will once you have some practice.You will also be able to fully transform into a Cait Sidhe, though the transformation will have a mind of its own at first till you get a handle on your new abilities.As to the abilities you now have, superior sense of smell, sight and sound, increased agility and flexibility, enhanced speed and hand-eye coordination, a little bit of magic though it'll mostly be deal magic and lastly the ability to talk to cats.Your other self will help you learn to control these things, you can speak to him when sleeping or looking in a mirror while you're alone.Eventually you'll be able to contact him simply by thinking.He'll explain what deal magic is.And I'm sure, whenever you can't contact him, your friend will be able to help,"Sam's said.
"Wait, you mean Sara?How is she supposed to help with this?"Jack asked, confused.Sam smirked."I take it she hasn't told you then.Understandable, you never can be too sure about trusting someone when it comes to a secret like that.I'm sure she'll explain once she finds out what you are now though.As for me, I can't stay.As the head mage and core advisor to my king I am a very busy feline.Plus I must report all of this at once.I'll pop in now and then to check on you though.Bye,"Sam said.A swirl of black mist surrounded the cat and when it dissipated Sam was gone.
Now that the freaking talking cat was gone, some of the enitial shock dissipated.Feeling the need to let out the pent up emotions he yelled into his pillow, not wanting to wake Sara up or startle her.Much better.He stared at his new tail for a second, wanting to see if he could make it move.Slowly but surely he was able to make it curl towards him.Fuck that felt weird, this would definitely take some getting used to.Well at least he wouldn't have to worry about his cat allergy any more.You can't be allergic to them if you are one.His ears flicked forward when he heard Sara moving around in the living room.Now seemed as good a time as ever to tell her about this.She was bound to find out eventually anyways.
He got up and got dressed, getting his boxers and pants on was a little awkward due to the tail.He ended up having to wear them a little lower in the back so his tail could hang over them.His shirt covered up what his pants couldn't.He glanced at the mirror on his dresser.He looked a lot like his reflection in the dream, the only differences being his right eye was blue, the sclera weren't black and his nails/claws were clear instead of black.He figured that must be because the reflection in his dream had been his 'other self'.
Somewhat nervously he left his room and went out into the living room."Hey Sara?We need to talk,"He said as he entered the room.
